There are a few other "CheckerBoard" compatible checker engines available to run under SAGEs front end interface. These are:-

This self-extracting archive will install this strong checkers engine (and his Checkerboard program) so that it can run under both SAGE and the CheckerBoard program too. You can download endgame databases for his engine from the net if you prefer, see Martins site http://www.fierz.ch/checkers.htm . CheckerKit engine - from us, an engine with its source code to demonstrate the principles of the standard used. A sort of compromise between strength and source code simplicity, it plays about as well as "Checkers", weaker than Sage or Cake..

There is another engine called "Kingsrow", but at this time it does not run under SAGE, it is been limited so that it does not work with other front end programs.. I hope this position will change later, and we will see a fairly open standard evolve..
