USING ZIP FILES..

Some of the programs or "extra" files on our WWW site are supplied as ZIP archives - this is one of the most common formats for supplying programs across the net. Many computers/browsers will already automatically be set up to handle decompressing and installing ZIP archives on computers - if yours isnt, you will need to download a utility for this. This is highly recommended, since if you use the internet you will find ZIP archives on many occasions. One good tool for handling ZIP archives is a free one called 7-zip from www.7-zip.org

Or you may like to try the shareware WinZip from www.winzip.com or www.shareware.com

When you have downloaded (for example) WINZIP & the ZIP archive from our site, you can use WINZIP to open & extract the program/files. If you are extracting, for example, extra database file (db6/db6.idx), just extract these to the appropiate directory (ie Program Files\SAGE90) and you have finished.

Some of the older games are supplied as ZIP files and require manual installation - let us take BLITZ as an example. Download BLITZ.ZIP into a temporary directory on your hard disk, ie. C:\TEMP\BLITZ.ZIP Run WINZIP, and open the C:\TEMP\BLITZ.ZIP archive, then select extract. Create a directory to take the program, ie. C:\BLITZ and extract the files to that location. Once extracted, you may like to create a shortcut to the program itself - to do this, right-click the mouse in an empty space in a folder where you want to put the program (ie GAMES), and select "new/shortcut/Browse" then enter the location for the program - C:\BLITZ\BLITZ.EXE and then click on "next" and give the program a name. Once you have it working you can delete the C:\TEMP\BLITZ.ZIP file. If at any stage you want to uninstall the program, just delete the entire contents of the directory and delete the program shortcut icon you created in GAMES
